Belize Carnival Excursion and Port: enough time for both?

We've booked a Carnival excursion in Belize from 9am - 1pm. We're in port from 8-5pm. Our excursion is picking us up at the ship and returning us to the ship. Will we have enough time to catch a tender to port?? I would like to see the Tourist Village and do some lite shopping.

You should have no problem. By that time there probably won't even be a wait for the tender to the port.

There's enough time but there won't be a lot of time. We did a carnival excursion that was also 9-1(starfish island to be exact). We left starfish island a little after 1 and we were back on the ship by 2. Our tender had to wait a bit for the other tenders to leave. Also, the tender ride to the port is about half an hour by the time they load and unload.

The port is really small so depending on how detailed a shopper you are, you could be done in 30 min.
