Back to Back/Platinum

Recommended Posts

I currently have 68 nights. I booked a 3 night and a 4 night on the inspiration Back to Back in August. I linked the two cruises. Will I be platinum on the first leg? How does a back to back work? This will be my first one. I'm cruising with a friend for three nights and then have family meeting me for the second leg. I will be moving cabins.

Should be platinum your first cruise. Have you tried to print out your luggage or boarding passes? They should say Priority.

The last night you should get a letter saying when and where to meet for the next cruise, usually it's in the Atrium.

They'll escort you off, check you in again. You can either be escorted back on when boarding starts or you can leave and come back. Remember to take your passes, passport and valuables with you. You'll get an In Transit card to get you back thru the doors.

Talk to your steward about your luggage. We always packed everything up and attached the new cabin's luggage tag to our bag. Haven't had an issue yet.

Carnival does not roll over your ship account. Clear out any OBC at the end of each cruise.

We go to the GS early on the first cruise, confirming that we're on the B2B list.

My very first cruise was a back to back. On my first cruise I received a blue card (as I expected) and on my second cruise I received a blue card again. They said the system wasn't updated before my card printed and told me I could come back later and get my gold card (as it was then). I never did, cause I didn't really care, just letting you know my experience. I also didn't receive an invitation to the past guest party (as gold cards did back then), so I guess the system never did update. :) This was 5 years ago though, so it could be different now.

My husband and I turned Platinum on the second leg of a b2b cruise, but we were considered Platinum on the first leg of the journey as well. I called Carnival about this a few times and got several different answers. Best thing to do is check your boarding passes for Priority like someone said before. If it's on there for the first leg, then you're considered Platinum the whole time.
