lmf24lmf Posted July 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2017 Good afternoon, My extended family is in the beginning stages of booking a cruise for next summer. Is there any any types of discounts by actually calling if we are going to book more than 5 rooms? Being we are not sure which ship or line we are going to take, I'm trying to figure out whether to call now or wait until we narrow it down to the exact ship? Clarea Posted July 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2017 If you book 8 or more staterooms, you qualify for perks from a group booking. I'd look for a travel agent who would share those perks with you.

Clarea Posted July 17, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2017 So you suggest using a travel agent instead of calling RCCLdirect? That's what I would do if I had 8 or more staterooms. However, it's worth a call to RC to see what they would offer.

Definitely call Royal first to see if they'll give you any onboard credit or discount. If you have more than two in the rooms then they might be able to give you a better deal with eight rooms instead of five. Only then would I transfer it to my travel agent. If you don't already have a travel agent be careful when choosing one. Ask about their cancellation policy, times they are available to help you and charges if decreasing the number of rooms. They should give you OBC for each cabin or free gratuities, etc. Cruise critic doesn't allow us to talk about travel agents so just call around.
