Rare lucywestie Posted July 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Will be cruising for the first time with NCL and am wondering about how their specialty dining works. On our previous cruises with Royal and Princess you pay just one price at ,say, their Steakhouse venues ( lets say $30) and have whatever you want off the menu. Does it work the same on NCL? I went through their website but it doesn't break it down into how you pay. Just wondering as if its more a la carte and things are priced individually then maybe it might make sense for us to buy the 3 dinner dining package. If you buy the dining package are you restricted as to what you can have off the menu and/or how much you can have? (not that I want 2 steaks but sometimes the appetisers are so good you might want an extra) Many thanks
Rare KeithJenner Posted July 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Only a few restaurants have a fixed cover charge. Principally these are Teppenyaki and Moderno. Most of the speciality restaurants are a la carte these days, so you pay for what you eat. If you have the dining package then you don't pay the a la carte prices. You are limited to one entree, but apps and desserts are not limited. There are some uncharges at a few of the restaurants (for example Ocean Blue or Bayarmo). You would use a dining credit and pay a few dollars on top of that. The details are all on the NCL website if you look up the dining package and then go to the FAQ's or T&Cs. SquishTheWhale Posted July 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2017 If you fancy the speciality dining then get the dining package as it works out a lot better value. For instance, a meal at Cagneys with a starter, main, sides and dessert could easily set you back $40 per person, but the 3 meal dining package is $69. And if you have the package you aren't limited on the amount of starters, sides and desserts you can order. There's some menus here although I'm not sure if they are the most up to date http://www.beyondships2.com/norwegian-escape-menus.html
