Which southern itinerary

I need help deciding which itinerary to choice for a southern Caribbean cruise. I did option 1 years ago and loved it. Option 2 is new to me. Not sure how Grenada & Dominica compare to St Lucia and St Kitts.

 

Option 1

San Juan

St Thomas

St Lucia

Barbados

St Kitts

St Maarten

 

Option 2

San Juan

St Croix

St Maarten

Dominica

Barbados

Grenada

I would take option 2, because Grenada not as common on Royal itineraries.

I did two last year and I recommend it as well. I like less commercialized/touristy islands with history and these delivered. Christiansted in St. Croix was worth the trip across the island as was the spice tour on Grenada.

I went on a Southern Caribbean cruise last March on the Serenade. Next March I am going back to the Southern Caribbean on the Grandeur. We will go to 2 of the same ports but 3 different ones. If you are wondering how the different ports will compare I think the only way to find out is to visit them.

Definitely Option #2.

 

Granada and Dominica are beautiful islands and somewhat off the beaten path, i.e. much, much less touristy than STT or SXM.
