Heather, don't stay there unless your looking to ruin your vacation. It's a dive.

I'd recommend any one of these airport hotels if thats where your looking to stay:

Hilton... http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/i...tyhocn=MIAAHHH

Hampton Inn... http://www.hamptoninnmiamiairport.com/

Homewood Suites... http://homewoodsuites.hilton.com/en/...tyhocn=MIABLHW

Sofitel...

Summerfield Suites... http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MIASS/main.wnt

Heather, read the Trip Advisor reviews, and do yourself a favor... BOOK SOMETHING ELSE... http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g34438-d85005-Reviews-Red_Roof_Inn_Miami_Airport-Miami_Florida.html

Downtown Miami is best for cruisers, but if you must stay near the airport, book a hotel in the "Blue Lagoon" area on the south side of MIA. It's a much nicer/SAFER area with better hotels.

  • 2 months later...

We just returned from our cruise leaving out of Miami. We stayed at this hotel on the Saturday night before we left. It was very clean and served our purpose very well. I got it online for $99.00 CDN or about $85.00 USD. It was easy to find and had a nice pool area and continental breakfast. Rooms were clean and the staff helpful. The area is not the best if you want things close by to walk to, but we had a rental car and it wasn't a big deal. I had been warned that this hotel was really bad, so I expected the worst...but was pleasantly surprised. It has been newly renovated and looked great.
