Cruisepm Posted July 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2017 We will be in Barcelona in early November. We have been to Barcelona before so we would like to visit Montjuic this time. Can anyone give me specific instructions on using public transportation to reach Montjuic from the cruise port (port bus, cable cars, funicular)? Thank you in advance for your help. EnricM Posted July 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2017 Montjuïc is a district -the largest in the city-... where exactly do you wanna go?
Cruisepm Posted July 30, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted July 30, 2017 Two of the sites I would like to visit are Castell de Montjuic and the Joan Miro Museum. If time permits, I'll visit other attractions in the area.
EnricM Posted July 31, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Assuming you're mooring at the Moll Adossat pier -which is by no means certain as there are several other piers where cruises dock-, either by taxi or T3 Portbus you should reach Torre Jaume I by the World Trade Centre, where you'll be able to board the Aeri del Port (the cable car), which will take you to Miramar in Montjuïc. From there you can walk or take bus #150 to Museu Joan Miró, then some 300-400 yards from the museum you have the other cable car which will take you to the fortress on top of the hill. You could also ride the #150 bus instead, but it's not so "dramatic". Plot everything in Google Maps, so you can get a visual picture on where's everything I mentioned. dkata Posted July 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2017 We took the Metro (L2 or L3) to Paral*lel station and then the funicular up the hill. From there we walked to the Joan Miro museum. then across the street from the museum we caught the 150 bus to Castel stop to visit the Castle. We thought about taking the cable car back down the hill since the terminal is right there near the Castel bus Stop, but since spouse doesn't like heights we opted for the 150 bus back to the funicular, down the hill to the Metro. If those are the two locations you want to visit, then it's easy. Montjuic is a large park, so other destinations may require a different bus.
