mintsugarcube Posted August 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2017 We are leaving next month on the Pride from Baltimore. For those of you fellow Plats who have sailed from here recently, what time did you board? Thanks!
Ocean Dancer Posted August 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2017 That may create a problem with self parking as the lot says it doesn't open until after 11am. If you do a 123 sleep/park cruise and take their shuttle, they open the gates for your shuttle. Cheaper than paying to park anyway.
Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted August 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2017 We cruise Pride 7/16... took an uber from our home, seven miles NW of DC. $48 for both of us. We climbed out of the uber (expedited entry into the parking lot if you're doing a drop off instead of parking) at 12:15pm, there is a separate section for plats and others, called "priority", we waited in line behind just one family and we were on the ship at 12:40 with a 12:30 assigned check-in time. The line to park was four lanes wide but barely crawling.
JMAE Posted August 5, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2017 7th Pride cruise in October 2017. If the ship is on time we have learned to get to the pier about noon, no waiting. Once we arrived at 11:15 and the lot was still closed and they told use we had to leave and return at 11:30. With being Platinum from the time we arrived to the time we were in our stateroom was no more than 15 to 20 minutes. If you are driving to the pier pay with cash the lines is always short, we never had more than one car ahead of us. Enjoy your cruise!

Enjoy your cruise! this is good advice bring cash. there will be one line that is lined up to drop off your bags with the porters. after that there are i believe 4 lines to pay for parking. go to the line all the way to the right that is cash only line. there will be nobody in line. it will save you some time. Laney219 Posted August 13, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2017 First time on Carnival.. I have a 1230 check in time. No priority, no FTTF. What is a realistic time I can expect to be on-board, provided the ship is on time and the stars all align? Also, I sailed Grandeur last month. There were only two lines to pay for parking and no cash only option. Is it different for Carnival sailings? TIA!
nisaza Posted August 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 13, 2017 They should be starting the boarding process about 12:30. The first to board will be diamond and platinum followed by FTTF. After they are done, they will start with general boarding. That goes by zone numbers. So, the earlier you get there, the better your zone number will be. The boarding process is actually pretty quick when you think of all of the people that are getting on.
