Constellation question

We're booking a last-minute cruise and we've never been on a Celebrity ship before. Is there a smoking side vs. a non-smoking side on the Constellation, and which is which? Nothing against smokers, but I'm highly allergic, so I want to book my cabin on the non side so I won't have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get to my cabin. An ounce of prevention...:D

Are there any particular balcony cabins to avoid? There are only 6 left, so my choices are going to be slim anyway.

Anybody else here cruisin on 12/17? I'll have to check out the Roll Call when I get a chance, I'm *supposed* to be working, LOL.

Port (left, facing the front) side is smoking; starboard (right side) is non-smoking. This applies only to the public areas, however. You will find cabins on starboard occupied by smokers, as well as cabins on port occupied by non-smokers.

I would try to get a balcony as far in front of the ship as possible. This way you avoid some of the smoke that blows aft from those who smoke on their balconies.

Stay away from walking through the casino ....

Moped, there's a thread of all of us going on this cruise. Check out:

I think booking last minute is good, you didn't have the MONTHS of anticipation we've all been suffering through.

My group of travelers is about 6 cabins of family and friends. We're all from various parts of Florida.

Not sure about the smoking areas.

Port side is smoking, and starboard is nonsmoking, but there are no nonsmoking cabins on Celebrity ships. I've never smelled smoke in a cabin from previous cruisers, though. As far as balcony selection, you might want to pick a balcony close to the bow of the ship, so at least while the ship is moving, you'll be upwind of most, if any smoke from nearby balconies.

There are no non-smoking cabins on Celebrity ships. They do a great job cleaning the cabins though, so there's rarely a problem with smelling any smoke in them (there was a thread about this a while ago - if you do a search you should find it). We've been on two cruises and my husband, who is extremely sensitive to smoke, would have sworn they were non-smoking cabins. I can't recall ever noticing more than a passing whiff of smoke in the halls around our cabin.

The public areas of the ship (lounges and deck) allow smoking on the port side only. There is no smoking in the dining room or theater. Casino is all smoking. We're always aware there are smokers around, but we avoid it as much as possible and it certainly isn't bad enough for us to consider not cruising on Celebrity! :)

Y'all are great! :D I'm looking forward to getting away from this crazy cold weather. Something about the Tropics always puts me in the Holiday Spirit, LOL. Looks like the only cabins available are port and close to the front. I'll just have to "wing it" and hope I get lucky.
