dp@kim Posted December 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2005 What Do I Do About An Iron If My Clothes Are Wrinkled? Can I Bring One On Or What Can I Use? Thanks Kim
tef43 Posted December 3, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2005 Can I Bring One On Or What Can I Use?Irons are not permitted in passenger cabins. You may use the ones provided in the ships' laundrette facilities.
CorbinCatFan Posted December 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2005 Just a quick note: Don't stress about wrinkled clothes. There are 2,000 other people on board who are in the same situation. Have a drink and relax...it is a vacation.;)
jleq Posted December 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 3, 2005 They don't want you to bring on an iron. Irons are available in each self-serve laundry aboard the ship. You can also bring aboard a "steamer". Another option is to turn on the hot water in the shower....close the bathroom door 'til steam builds up [only takes a couple of minutes]...steam your clothes that way. Loves_Dogs Posted December 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 3, 2005 Downey Wrinkle Release worked pretty good for us (at least it did after we finally read the directions and started using it according to the :-) instructions)
Golfgrl1911 Posted December 3, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2005 As Jeleja says the Downey Wrinkle Free works very well..........so well in my opinion, I should do a commercial for them!! This stuff really worked for us! I always give a bottle to any one I know who's cruising as a gift. Try it as you'll find no real need for an iron after using. Husbands may not like the "pretty" smell it has however.

Mgetta Posted December 3, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2005 The only thing more amazing than the number of people who post questions about irons, is the fact that anyone would even consider spending their cruise time ironing! Guess I'm not very neat:(
Cotton Posted December 3, 2005 #9 Share Posted December 3, 2005 .....and what amazes me is that folks don't read the website or the Carnival brochures, or their 'Welcome' booklet that comes with the documents. All is clearly spelled out - in many different places - NO irons, heating pads, or candles allowed in cabins.:)
Cruisin Oma Posted December 3, 2005 #10 Share Posted December 3, 2005 I can't find her review (and it is multiple postings anyhow) but she told a very entertaining story on how she burned a hole in her brand new formal outfit because the irons get hotter than the setting says. Talk about having a positive attitude! Maybe it was because it was a week later, but she was really chipper about it! My advice - Downey Wrinkle Releaser or let the ship press them for you - the charge was pretty reasonable.

Kittybork Posted December 3, 2005 #12 Share Posted December 3, 2005 she was really chipper about it! Not only was she chipper about it; she wrote it in a way that made it sound very humorous. She is probably a hoot to be around.
