Day before bag drop at Gatwick - Confused

Last time I flew to Palma to join Discovery I dropped my bag at Gatwick the day before the flight. I am flying to Palma again from Gatwick to join Majesty so I checked the Thomson site for confirmation as I have a 6.15am flight.

 

It now says day before bag drop is NOT available for Thomson cruises due to screening and security issues

 

Hence the confusion

 

I wonder what time the check in desk opens?

Unfortunately, Day Before Bag Drop is not available for Thomson Cruises. This is due to luggage and medical screening requirements.

Good morning,

We are planning to do the same, so I checked our e-ticket for info on dropping off the day before and found the following statement:

 

"If you're planning to drop your bags at the airport the day before, please note you must have checked-in online first"

 

I shall be showing this to the drop off people if there is any comments made at the time.

I don't think that will work. The last time I flew from Gatwick to Palma I dropped my bag the evening before and went straight to security next morning. When I got to Palma I found I did not have a medical declaration form which caused some hassle. It turned out that the declaration forms were handed out at Gatwick but not to those dropping bags the day before.. This may be the medical screening issue they mention.

 

I shall have to be awake at 4am to join the queue.

Oh we were planning on dropping our bags the night before too, have hotel nearby booked to have a longer lie in!
