MSN-Travelers Posted December 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2005 There is no standardization across cruise lines on this issue. Some cruise lines change ship time to match local time. Some do not. LA is Pacific Standard time and PV is Central standard time. Cabo & Mazatlan are on Mountain Standard Time. Contact you cruise line to find out what their policy is for your specific itinerary. Enjoy!
tequillasunrise Posted December 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2005 Mexico is two hours ahead of our time zone in Cal. The first day at sea they make you set your clocks 1 hr ahead. From then on all the excursions and so forth go by ship time. When on shore the local time is 1 hr ahead of ship time. This is how it was done on the Star. We were told that changing our clocks ahead two hours would be confusing. Go figure? At least no one should be late getting back to the ship. Hope this helps Jens
Vista Cruiser Posted December 16, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2005 To clarify - MSN Travelers is correct. Not all Mexico is the same time zone. Most ships seem to move the clock ahead one hour after leaving California. This matches the time in Cabo and Mazatlan, but is still one hour behind PV. Some ships may move the time again to match PV time; other ships leave the time where it was and run everything one hour off local time for PV only. For the most accurate answer, one should check with their cruise line.
