Stircrzy Posted December 8, 2005 #26 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Here's the latest (today) from Mr. Thornton: Unfortunately, we have been delayed in rolling out the Carnival Vacation Club to additional ships. We are now selling the program aboard the Carnival Spirit, Carnival Pride, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory and Carnival Valor. We do not expect to add additional ships to the program now until mid-2006. We apologize for this delay and thank you for your continued interest in the Carnival Vacation Club. Have a great holiday season. Sincerely, Terry ******* And from reading another post, looks like the Conquest is going back to NOLA in 2007 and the Freedom will sail from Galveston during the winter months and to Europe during the summer months. read thread
number1cruiser Posted December 8, 2005 #27 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Myself and my DH are members also. We just booked a cruise in January on the Spirit. We paid cash for this one through CVC. The price was less than 50.00 Between CVC and Carnival. CVC was higher. We booked a 4a guarantee and got upgraded to 4D. We also got a 100.00 cabin credit from the promo that Carnival was running at the time that we booked. Also I enjoy the perks that comes along with our membership. Our last cruise in September we booked a 8b guarantee and got upgraded to a Penthouse Suite. This upgrade alone paid for our membership. We enjoy the club and it's perks. Here's what we have gotten for our 5,000 investment 20,000 points. 1. 5 day cruise out of Long Beach,Ca to Mexico 1 floor upgrade 2. 7 day cruise to Alaska Upgraded to a Penthouse Suite 3. We have 2600 points or so left. Our membership is good for 5 years as we joined a year ago that's what it was then but has now changed.
