Allure: balcony views & lifeboat question

I'm in the process of choosing my cabin on Allure (yay!) and we have always been on higher decks. I was interested in trying a lower level- deck 6- for easy access to the shops and bars. I was also thinking it would be nice to be closer to the wake for the sound on the balcony.

My concern is looking out off the balcony and staring at the top of a lifeboat. If that was the case, I'd rather be up high to look out over the water.

Specifically, I was booking 6212. Can anyone offer expert insight?

We prefer Deck 8, easier access to the neighborhoods which allows you to travel the length of the ship without fighting the crowds of shoppers, etc. Deck 7 is a good option; one deck down to shopping, one deck up to the neighborhoods.

We just had #7288, and loved it. One flight up to Central Park, one down to Boardwalk and two down to Promenade. I'd book again in a heartbeat...it was so convenient. We don't spend much time on the top decks...so if you like that, maybe rethink, because it's a long walk up to 15 & 16 and often there are long waits for elevators. But if bars, shopping, entertainment is what you're into...the lower decks are great. We could look down and see the lifeboats, but they never obstructed our view. You have to go out of your way to see them. I think Deck 6 would be the same.
