Joe Friday Posted June 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2004 Having a heck of a time finding a resonable (meaning not $250-300/nt)hotel for just one night in Papeette. Know how to contact hotels or other lodging that might cost more like $100 but still be decent. Only need to sleep there- don't care about fancy amenities. Heard Mandrin was OK but can find a way to contact them.
Tkennedy Posted June 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Joe - below is my post to you yesterday. Is was under your question LAX - Papeete. You may want to change your postings to "Roll Call" and keep all your questions in one location. Hope you find this helpful. posted 6-16-04 Joe Friday - We are sailing on the "Pacific Princess" 8/29/04 from Papeete. Flying "Air Tahiti Nui". Flying from LAX to Papeete, August 28. arriving abt. 6:30 pm (same day). We did the air deviation with Princess, to travel one day before our cruise. We booked a room for the one night @ $155. USD per room (not per person) at the "Royal Tahitien Hotel". Booked on line through "Federal Hotel Reservation". We also made arrangements through the hotel to have a shuttle service pick us up at the airport, CFP 1000 per person ($10. USD). We'll be doing the same to get to the ship. "Royal Tahitien Hotel" & "Federal Hotel Reservation" have web sites. Hope this information is helpful. Have a great cruise. Tom & Lorraine

Joe Friday Posted June 17, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Thank You Tahiti Team for hotels downtown. I was told by someone taht the Tahitian Princess docks near downtown. Is this true? Then would it be a short walk to the ship from these downtown hotels? Thanks
the tahiti traveler Posted June 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2004 hello, yes, the cruise ship pier is located in the city center. The Mandarin is the closest hotel to the pier and I would say it will take you approx 5 minuts to walk from this hotel to the pier. Enjoy your cruise, Manu The Tahiti traveler team
