City_Woman Posted December 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2005 We don't want to do walking/hiking on uneven ground and we're not too excited about seeing these attractions. What other tours/things can we do in Dominica beside this?

hollym Posted December 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2005 Just back from Dominica and loved the Whale and Dolphin Watching tour. No effort involved and spectacular views of the resident sperm whales. Be in a boat, and the dolphins will come. They jumped clear out of the water all around our bow. Some were the ususal bottle nosed dolphins but there are several different species including the pygmy dolphin. Definitely recommend this tour but if you're prone to seasickness, take meds first. aanselm Posted December 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 25, 2005 The Carib Reservation, a reservation of the indigenous Carib Indians can be very interested to see how their live, their handicrafts etc. There's a cool natural attraction called lescalier tetehier (sp!!!) or something nearby, but I would not do that part without a guide. BCfan Posted December 29, 2005 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2005 My wife and I booked Wacky Rollers River Tubing. It was a blast!! There were four of us and we had four guides to help us along. They knew the river very well, and gladly shared their knowledge of their island with us. The whole tour was about four hours, and we spent about 1.5 hours on the river. They served fresh fruit and rum punch after tubing. Highly recommended.
Sea Day Cruiser Posted December 29, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2005 Was the Wacky Rollers River Tubing excursion through the ship or a separate tour you booked on your own? If on your own, did you book it ahead or on the docks after the ship reached Dominica?
