Easy Snorkel Kona?

Going to Hawaii in a few weeks any ideas for good spots to snorkel. We will have a rental car, not wanting to take a ship out. Needs to be easy to get in/out of the spot and in a perfect world would have a snorkel rental spot near by.

Any ideas?

You could go just a few miles down the street from the pier (Alii Drive) and hit a very popular snorkle beach called Kahalu'u. There is snorkle rental right there, bathrooms, showers, and food normally. It has a pretty good sized parking lot and is right next door to the Keauhou Beach Hotel by whatever name it calls itself these days.

Locals and tourists really like this beach for its ease of getting in and out and the abundant fish. There are usually turtles around either swimming or sunbathing but please remember DON'T TOUCH them.

There are also surf boards for rent across the street, I believe if you are so inclined.

Have a wonderful time in my beautiful city.

Emi
