ckornuta Posted September 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2017 We will be travelling to Labadee with my 80 yr old FIL who has bad knees. We always go to barefoot beach but i was wondering is there a better beach for him to get to without too much walking. Thanks
maureencruiser Posted September 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2017 I'm curious about this as well. Do they have trams that can take you the longer distances, as well?
RMH Posted September 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2017 Yes there is a small bus-like 'tram' that will take people from just outside the pier to Columbus Cove beach at the far end of the peninsula. It also stops at Barefoot Beach, Nellies Beach, and Town Square. Labadee is not big - just over half a mile from end to end. As a result there are not a lot of trams; one, maybe two, so it usually is faster to walk than to take the tram unless you time it just right. But, if you need it, it is nice, and it will get you where you need to go. Barefoot beach is the closest to the pier, but the tram stop at Columbus Cove is much closer to the actual beach, so less walking.
