generasianx Posted September 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2017 I am getting conflicting answers from the people at RC. I need to find out where to meet someone who's picking me up, but don't know where the ship is docking/tendering. Can someone who recently went on the cruise let me know? Thank you! debshomespun Posted September 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2017 We will be sailing on the Mariner 4 night in November, but not stopping in Phuket. We are also doing a 4 night land stay in Phuket. After extensive research, The Mariner tenders for the Phuket stops into Patong beach area. We will be staying in this area. Hopefully, this will help you out.
VeggieCruiser23 Posted September 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2017 I was there Sept. 13th. The ship docked at the deep sea port. That changes based on the season which i think is end of October. Then the ship will dock at Patong beach. datolim Posted September 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2017 From Oct. to Mar Mariner will anchor off Patong Beach. Outside this she will anchor of deep sea port. She is too big to dock in deep sea port. Exact date of the change depends on when the monsoon wind changes
Aussie FF Posted September 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 20, 2017 When we were there last week we tendered to the deep sea terminal. We were told that when we go back next month we will be on the Patong side. I will report back and let you know if that happens. Cheers Aussie Frequent Floaters. RosemaryMN Posted September 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2017 On the same topic, how long does it typically take to tender at Phuket? We've booked a second cruise on MOTS with a similar itinerary to our first cruise a few years ago, and and we found it took up most of the day waiting to get to shore. Not sure if that is typical or if things were just unusually bad when we were there. We didn't go on a ships excursion last time, and trying to decide if we should do this time so we get to shore more quickly.

If your ship anchor off deep sea port you get to shore far away from anything. If Paton Beach you land in the middle of town.
