Boogie boarding beaches?

Hello,

My 2 boys and I would like to do some boogie boarding in between some snorkeling and general beach time. Any recommendations? Also, should we bother with the hassle of bringing our own boards or are they readily available to rent at the beaches? We are meeting up with my parents in FL before the cruise & they have boards for us so I wouldn't have to take them on the plane (i.e., not a huge hassle to lug along other than space in the cabin).

Thanks in advance,

bp

PS: Sorry for being redundant, but I'm going to post this same question on St. Maarten and Princess board (for princess cay).

I didn't see much there where you could boogie-board. In order to do that you need to have more wave action that any place I saw on St. Thomas or St. John. Cinnamon Bay seemed to have the most surf in that it was the least like a lake of all the beaches we've been to. But the waves there break too close to shore.

If you're going to bring them along, I would just leave them on the ship when you stop at St. Thomas. Can't help you with St. Maarten. :(

I've only been to St. Thomas once, but I love to 'boogie board' - and St. Thomas just isn't the place to do it. There are very small waves, meaning a slight flucuation in the level of the water, but nothing I would call "waves."

Snorkeling, on the other hand is wonderful - I went to Coki Beach and could see everything - I had a blast!

Have a great trip!
