If you book a Carnival cruise and it says three payments what happens if you make extra payments than what happens and do you know if you can book in cdn dollars

I don't really understand the benefit of easy pay. You can already pay in any size installment you want as often as you want until final payment. But if I'm missing something I'd love to know.
