best snorkeling

St Martin isn't known for it's diving or snorkeling, but they are known for shopping and wonderful beaches. Definitely plan on snorkeling in St. Thomas. Either go to Coki Beach, make your way over to St. John, or take an excursion to St. John to snorkel.

One of the best excursions we've ever done on a cruise was a catamaran sail and snorkel to St. John. The catamaran was a REAL sailing one and we sailed rather than motored over. Since that was over 10 years ago, we haven't seen that type of excursion offered again, but we have seen other sailing options to St. John. We just really enjoyed the time on the water and the view of the gorgeous St. Thomas homes on our way to our snorkeling sight. We also went to a secluded bay where we were the only people, so that was really neat.

Check to see if your ship has a tour for "Captain Nautica" We used him last Sept, on RCCL, and it was fantastic. about 4 hrs at 4 different spots. we saw sea turtles, sting rays, coral formations and lots of fish. Best time we had, even better than the catamaran.

Last year I spent a week on St John. I found the underwater trail at Trunk Bay really nice. This year we are on our first cruise, when we get to St Thomas were taking the ferry directly from Charlotte Amelie to Cruz Bay then taxi to Trunk Bay. We'll spend the whole time there. It's a great snorkeling place and an awesome place to chill out. They have showers, food & drinks and it's all in a national park!

just returned from the Golden Princess and St. Thomas last week. We took a tour to Sapphire Beach and had some great snorkeling off the beach. Took along a couple of dog biscuits and the fish went wild!!
