lookin2cruise2017 Posted October 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2017 We are cruising on New Year’s Eve. Wondering if people dress up for it or just do normal evening attire? Anyone know if Carnival does anything for New Years Eve? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
nealstuber Posted October 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2017 Yes and Yes. Last year on Dream it happened to fall on formal night (or they moved form night). They had Champagne on the Lido at embark, lots of favors at MDR dinner and at two rocking countdown parties, one at NYC midnight in the Atrium and one an hour later at midnight ships time on the Lido. Also some nice freebees in the Casino. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

When we cruised Elation last year hardly anyone really did anything for formal night. Thought maybe people went all out for NYE? I don’t want to go buy a nice formal dress to find no one dresses up even for NYE. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Shorter cruises on smaller ships may have different “norms” but I doubt you’ll feel out of place dressed to the regular elegant suggestions or better. If you haven’t been over to your roll call you might check there. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
youagain Posted October 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2017 In 2016 people dressed for dinner but then back to shorts and t-shirt at least on deck. Some were still dressed up but most were casual after dinner.Enjoy we loved NYE
