Returning Avis FLL before embarcation???

Will have to return my rental to Avis at the airport by 11:00 am Jan 15.

 

Should I drop my wife and friends at Port Everglades, return rental to airport and take a taxi back to Port Everglades?

 

Will my wife and friends be on the Star by then?

 

Any suggestions?

It boils down to if you all want to stay together or meet them there. They may be able to start boarding at 11. They can wait for you in the waiting room before they board or you can just meet them on deck. ;)

Dropping the rest of your party off along with your luggage is a good idea... There's no predicting how long the check-in lines will be at any given time, but I would have them wait for you to return before checking in.

Not sure if you are able to change your plans with the car rental company, but if you rent from Hertz you can drop off the car at their off site office and they will put you on a shuttle to the ship for free. That way you can keep the family together and board together.

No, I'm afraid that I'm booked with Avis. I don't know if Avis has an off-site. Maybe Trents knows.

 

I'll enquire when I pick up the rental on Thursday.

Avis has a few off airport locations in South Florida, but nothing close to Port Everglades other than the airport location.
