Panama Canal

Would anyone have any recommendations as to shore excursion in the Panama Canal. I don't know if we should stay on the ship or do some sort of sightseeing. I would really like to do both but don;t think there is enough time everything I want to do.

Thanks

claudia

We did the tour of Spanish forts and canal. The close up time at the canal was great, and our tour guide made the time spent looking at the spanish forts very informative.

Others in our group did the sail boat tour, and were able to complete the entire canal...our cruise was not end to end, but turned around on the lake. Anyway, they raved about it...

The decks are very crowded for the canal transit, so be prepared to get your spot picked out early. If you have a balcaony so much the better.
