Carnival weddings

Son and future daughter in law are talking about a cruise wedding and we are trying to gather any info we can find on this. Not sure which ship but will be out of galveston next year. They got engaged on breeze this year. She is thinking a short cruise so it won't be as expensive on others going. I'm trying to get a ballpark figure of cost for a ship wedding and a beach wedding in cozumel. What do we need to get in advance besides reservations of course!! Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated!

Your best bet is to try the wedding board. But I got married on the glory in 2012 and we loved it. We had 42 family and friends come along and then we stayed for a second week as our actual honeymoon. Carnival used to have prices right on their site so I don't know if you've searched to that yet but it was definitely very affordable compared to a land-based wedding. Keep in mind though shipboard weddings are done on embarkation day and the longest reception is only an hour and a half. But that's what we wanted. The ceremony took about 15 minutes and then we had the dance club for the ceremony with open bar and plenty of food.

I read something recently where a couple had planned a wedding in port and because of the hurricanes missed their ceremony. I realize that not every cruise will have weather related issues, but I wouldn't want to take a chance. I have seen some of the people boarding for wedding cruises and wished I could've done one. Good luck to them both. Have a great cruise no matter what you decide.

I was married on the Conquest in New Orleans in 2013. It was awesome! I highly recommend it. We opted for the ceremony in port because not everyone wanted to go on the cruise. The whole wedding party (and guests not sailing) got on the ship 1st (or near 1st) and there was about 50 of us total. They really did a great job making the day easy and the cost of the whole ceremony was cheap for a wedding. I think we spent about $5000 for the whole thing soup to nuts (that didn't include travel to NO mind you). A few highlights include: really good food, low prices (especially for an open bar), the best wedding cake I have ever had (and I've been to $100k weddings), super easy to coordinate, and great wedding photos all over the ship. 10/10 would do again.

Our daughter got married on the Pride in June of 2016 - it was an embarkation wedding held while the ship was still in Baltimore. We had 50 non-sailing guests and 33 sailing guests. Carnival did an amazing job with everything and the price was very reasonable. Since then, they have changed the wedding packages, and they are now more expensive, but still a good deal. The prices are listed on the Carnival website if you do a search for Carnival Weddings. Congratulations and have fun planning!

These might help with the planning. And remember embarkation day weddings need not have all the guests for the ceremony booked, to sail they do allow a limited number of non-sailing "witnesses" for the event and mini reception.

On board and island resort weddings https://www.carnival.com/~/media/CCLUS/Images/pdf/Weddingspricelist

Also other private events can be arranged for those sailing even if the wedding guests do not book as a group:

If the guests book as a group amenity points can possibly be used, have the wedding planner check with the group booking department for specific date ad itinerary availability, http://static2.traveltek.net/images/carnivalmeetings.site.traveltek.net/pdfs/Group_Fun_Points_and_Flexi_Pricing_Directs_02-2013.pdf

Also an on board wish list is available to the couple... https://carnival.honeymoonwishes.com
