bjkTX Posted June 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2004 I have noticed in several of your posts that you will be taking 4 or 5 cruises on the Diamond in a short period of time. The question is: Do you do this for business of some kind or is it purely for recreation/vacation? If they are just recreation/vacation - do you adopt??? NitaBcruising Posted June 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2004 bjk, Heck, I'm probably too old to be adoptable anymore, (you know, past the cute stage!) but I'd sure settle for a sponsorship!!! Okay, Steve????? Nita
DoniaG Posted June 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Steve - I know you're already married, but in the same vein as the posts above, I have to say that I would be perfectly willing the bunk in with the Rottweillers (sp?) at home if you'll take me along on your cruises. srphnx Posted June 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2004 Firstly, we don't do this professionally. I am semi-retired and Toni, my cabin-mate of record has a flexible schedule. We are careful to not spend much on non cruise related items (food, clothes, shelter)and shop diligently for our sailings. For instance we are doing a back to back in November-December for about $1900 for BOTH of us. We drive to the ship-no air and don't have muchof a bill at the pursers so except for the dog sitter we really don't have any additional expenses. As to adoptions, sponsorship, and general cruise assistance programs we are not taking applications at this time but appreciate your interest. We do appreciate your envy and more than understand it, I met a couple who cruised a week a month several years ago, that set my sights a bit higher than 1 or 2 a year. sue d. miller Posted June 21, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 21, 2004 No. Just go to bed Ann!!! It has to be 5000 not 3000. Maybe the board will screw up, and only I will go back to zero. I really don't care how many I have. I just love being her and posting with everyone!! NitaBcruising Posted June 22, 2004 #14 Share Posted June 22, 2004 Well drat, Steve! I was hoping for some assistance here! We've averaged 3 a year, for our 5 years of cruising, so not bad. More would be better! Do keep me in mind, when taking strays on vacation, okay????? Nita
Baxter Posted June 22, 2004 #15 Share Posted June 22, 2004 Srphnx, Any recommendations for excursions in the Mexican Riviera. I have visited the "Ports" board, but am looking for more specifics on what others have done. Sapphire Princess
srphnx Posted June 22, 2004 #16 Share Posted June 22, 2004 Baxter, we have done this alot and take the advise of the local who don't advocate doing much and never in a hurry. Most of the towns are good for exploring by foot or cab, for horseback riding you have to do Randi's in Maz. Fishing is HUGE in cabo, Marlin capitol of the world, shopping is ok in PV, we do GREAT, cheap massages at the mini-spas near the dock there.
