Cabin TV

Since this is our first cruise we were wondering what is shown or available on the cabin tv screens on the Carnival Liberty?

Is it just ship info or is there cable channels to watch?

I would like to keep updated on world news and events without having to rely on any internet plan if possible.

They had VERY limited cable channels, but I think CNN was one of the selections

The major networks, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, CNN, and a few others.

We also got a local channel out of Miami on the Freedom last month (we departed from Galveston).

I do not remember the channels, as we never watch much, but I'd say if there are about 16 channels, half are cartoons (like Cartoon Network), TBS, local port news and national news channels; the other half are ship channels.

There should be pay per view movies also ( I think they were $5 each ) and free movies on 2 channels repeating all day.

On our last Pride cruise in October they changed the format of the two free movie channels. They now have a schedule with different movies playing throughout the day but the movies repeat all week. Also, depending on where you sail channels may vary, sailing out of Baltimore we received Fox News along with CNN.

I'm not sure how much tv I will watch but it is nice to know there is news channels available.
