Past final payment, can I call and get the extra promo items added?

I know, the answer is probably no, but thought I would ask.:D We are 10 days past final payment and if we had booked this week could have gotten all pick 5 promo, we only have pick 2. Has anyone ever been able to call and get the extra promo items, the price of the cruise is the same as we paid last week.

They will probably say no, but it never hurts to ask. I've heard in the past of people being successful but they had to pay something - like paying to move from a BE to a BD, for example.

Called yesterday (we sail 12/2) and they were more than willing. We would just have to pay the difference of what the cabin rate is now vs what we paid. It was only $244 more. We ultimately decided not to do it though because we are not big drinkers and to add the UBP would have cost an additional $224 for the 18% gratuities. Absolutely call.

That's like 1.5 cocktails/glasses of wine per person, per day on a 7-night cruise to "break even". Or about 2 beers per day. Depending on how much you drink that may not be a bad deal.

I should have added we are on a CAS comp so we get free drinks in the casino. We have two add-ons as it is and have not completely ruled out changing one of those to the drink package but we can do that up until Dec 1st. We did the math and it just didn't work for us. It's too much to try and explain here but, trust me, we picked it apart.

That definitely changes the equation :-)

We just booked this past weekend for a cruise that leaves in less than 2 weeks. We were only able to pick 2 options when we booked as that was the promotion at the time. I called up tonight and was able to get the other 2 items added for a cost of $25 due to taxes for the dinning program. Still have the same room that was booked this weekend.

And of course I just check the rates again for our cruise and they appear to have dropped $50 pp overnight. Hmmm, now what to do? Gonna have to call CAS again in the am and see if we might could get it all for even less than what we were quoted yesterday. Sometimes it pays to never stop checking, even after final payment.

I booked through an online agency, I called them, they called NCL for me to see if we could get the extras for our upcoming 12/9 cruise on the Escape. I was given 2 options-pay to upgrade to a Mini-suite and get the exras, OR for free move to a mid ship balcony. I declined both for 3 reasons:

1-We would have to pay the difference on the original UBP gratuities now that they have increased the cost of it.

2-When we booked originally it included pre-paid service charges and we would lose those.

3-We booked an Aft facing balcony on deck 12-no way are we giving that up!!

So we will do without the wifi and $50 shore excursion credits and be happy to be Escaping from the real world for a while :)

Had my travel agent call about our upcoming Escape cruise. We had pick 2 in mini suite. They said we could add the rest but we would have to pay our taxes because we booked during a 'free taxes' promo. Bummer! Not worth the difference to get free wifi and the dining package for us.

This is the correct answer! NCL said in order for us to get all 5 perks we would have to upgrade to next category up and to me not worth it. It is $500pp more. We will be happy in our mini suite with our beverage and dining packages.:D

We booked the Getaway sailing for Jan.29th on Sunday with an online agency and got the pick 2 option. This was final payment day as it was less than 90 days out,

On Tuesday, I noticed that all 5 options were now available. I figured it was work a call to the TA. They were able to add in the extra 2 options (we didn't have a 3rd/4th person so that one was NA). There was no begging needed, and no upcharge. Everything stayed the same. We already and the beverage and dining package so the tips were already added in.

We initially had a Take all 5 balcony on the Escape with 100 OBC - just a couple days ago the take all 5 came back again but was offering $200 OBC - we are past final payment so I didn't think that we had a chance but I had our TA call anyways and luckily she was able to get us the extra $100 (for no additional charges) - she said it took here a few calls to get it though...now ..what to spend it on...

Exactly why I'm not calling as I wouldn't want to give up my Aft facing balcony on deck 12 either!

Oh I upgraded and my DH doesn't know yet;p I went from the lowest mid-ship balcony to a large Balcony for under $500. I wanted a larger balcony, 32sf wasn't cutting it and with dinning, port excursion discount, 250 min wifi & the extra $100 obc it was well worth it to me. I am one happy camper.
