MNLIvin Posted November 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2017 We are on the Getaway Nov 26 and Dec 3 sailings. We have to change rooms. On Carnival we pack our bags and they move the hanging stuff and bags for us. What is the procedure on NCL?
PMOzcruisers Posted November 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2017 We did B2B on the Pearl with a change of rooms. We packed our bags and our room steward organised for our bags to be moved to our new cabin. Sent from my SM-G955F using Forums mobile app
TexasCigarGuy Posted November 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2017 If your ship has to clear immigration at a US port during the switch, you should get instructions, luggage tags and reboard stickers delivered to your room 3 to 4 days prior to the switch. Might want to check with the front desk to make sure they've got you set up for B2B.
garycarla Posted November 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2017 We have done it twice. Though the room stewards will help, I feel that is just looking for trouble. Remember, these folks are EXTREMELY BUSY during that time frame turning over all the rooms, etc. I would find the steward for your new room and let them know you are moving so they can try to get YOUR NEW CABIN ready as early as possible. Unless you tell him, it could easily not be ready for some time, even if they have a "system" to to let him know. Then, get your stuff ready and move it yourself. Just my two cents. Manxgovag Posted November 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2017 I did it on Epic in March and the room steward was fab. I just packed my bag and left everything else hanging. He moved evrything to my new cabin and by the time I had disembarked to clear US customs, my new room was ready. I didn’t have to take any of my belongings off the ship for customs, just my passport and a completed immigration form.
cruise4kicks Posted November 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2017 Have done several b2bs on Norwegian. We were always instructed to pack up, and the stewards would take care of the bags. Just walked off with purse and docs. Never a hitch!
roxette Posted November 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2017 Did this last week on Getaway. We had to pack all our things in our cabin. We got new tags for the new cabin and our bags were moved there. We had our bags inside our new room at 1:30. On the Sun in may though, they moved all things from the cabin without having to pack them in to the suitcases.
ready2cruzagain Posted November 14, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2017 OP, it is basically the very same as Carnival. Pack your bags and room steward moves them. Have done b2b's and switched rooms on NCL and Carnival and really no difference that I can remember.
RobTheGob Posted November 14, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 14, 2017 We've done a B2B with a room change on the Pearl - we found that it was far easier for us to move ourselves, than to let the stewards do it. But YMMV.
TexasCigarGuy Posted November 14, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 14, 2017 In addition to the "kit" delivered mentioned in Post #3, the following was just now delivered here on the Epic. They certainly seem to have this down pat.

Ours last year on the Epic said Headliners 9:30am, no one showed up until 10:45am Wish they would have at least acknowledged we were there
