Gaprofitt Posted November 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2017 Hey All, Going on NCL Escape in Feb again, I have the pick one free thing, but Gratuities are excluded. It will be me and my 6 year old son. Any suggestions? I'm not a big drinker, plus I think it's like $120 charge for tips, etc upfront. It's western carribean so the $50 shore excursion options look kinda weak as well. Wifi, nah... Any suggestions?
Two Wheels Only Posted November 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2017 Either take the SDP ($12.42pp in service charges) or take nothing (Norwegian Rate).
MikeBTN Posted November 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2017 If you're going to take nothing, why not do a sail-away (AKA guarantee) room? Often several hundred dollars per person cheaper than picking your room and doing the "Norwegian rate".
ray98 Posted November 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2017 If SDP didn't interest me I would certainly consider just booking a Sail Away GTY and saving some big bucks.
MikeBTN Posted November 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2017 If SDP didn't interest me I would certainly consider just booking a Sail Away GTY and saving some big bucks. Book a Sail Away and buy the SDP - its $69 (plus 18% "service charge") per person for 3-nights. Still probably way cheaper to book a sail away rate and pay separately than to pick your room. Picking a random date, March 3-10: Sailaway Inside - $699 PP IF - $799 PP (plus $12.42 PP service charge for SDP) Booking a sail away and paying separately for SDP is $31 PP cheaper. The difference is even more pronounced for OV and up. For many people, UDP would drastically alter that equation.
