Taxis Cost In San Juan

Is the 18 dollar fare for the taxi or per person from Airport to dock?

I believe the rate is per taxi not per person. (don't forget to add tip) and I am not sure if there is an additional charge for over 2 bags.

make sure to get the rate from the driver before getting into a cab. He will then tell you what the charge is and for what...

Just back from 11/26 sailing on Serenade.

 

DO NOT GO STRAIGHT TO A TAXI ---- at the airport you will see a sign for Taxis and transportation..... if there is a line get in it. We were the only ones in the line when we got there. There will be someone who will ask you where you are going - they will write out a ticket and you give that to taxi driver.

 

THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR BAGS.... that will also be on the ticket and final price should be totaled at the bottom. That way there is no confusion about price.

 

Very good system. Be sure to use it. When using a taxi any other place also ask driver how much before you get in....

I read in the lastest issue of Que Pasa magazine that the fare from the airport to old san juan was $16 per cab ride and included 2 pieces of luggage. Any extra pieces of luggage is 50 cents each.

That sounds about right. I just remember the 50. per luggage and that the prices are regulated, which is good.

Just got back yesterday from Celebrity cruise. From SJU to the Pan American pier was $20 plus $.50 per bag. The attendant at the taxi dispatcher's desk will give you a slip with those amounts. The price is per taxi not per person.
