Schooner-ca Posted November 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2017 As I recall shopping is a couple of blocks to the left. We really enjoyed a cab tour very reasonable. It was an open VW dune buggy. Cabbie spoke perfect English. We enjoyed Matzatlin. We did not go to the major hotel beach area. It was a considerable distance away. dag144 Posted November 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Take a short cab ride to the Mercado. It's a huge wonderful public market with food and the usual Mexican tourist stuff. There are some wonderful craft stores in the old town which is a short and worthwhile walk towards the ocean from the Mercado. Then take a cab back to the ship. This is a compact area and the cabs are not expensive. Good restaurants also.
Kunjaqueen Posted November 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Is the shopping located near the port or do you need to take a cab? Theres shopping right inside the port terminal if you choose to go that option - it was expensive though. Take a taxi to the Golden Zone and look around there. Take a taxi to the Golden Zone and look around there. The last time I was there we had stops in cabo, Puerto Vallarta and mazatlan. I really didn't feel like going "downtown" like I generally do. I found a couple things right at the pier and the prices were decent when you bargained with them. Prices were the most reasonable in mazatlan out if the 3 ports.
