doolange Posted December 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2005 Hello everyone! My brother is taking the Holiday Cruise on the Dawn on December 22. We work in a family business and he is a little concerned about keeping in touch with me while on the boat. I know that you could use the computer lounge to e-mail but if you have a laptop, can you hook it up in your cabin and stay in touch during the day via e-mail? I know the phone don't work so I figured e-mailing is the best way but I am not sure how it works.

It will not work in the cabin unless he is booked into a high end penthouse but will work in the atrium area and pool area. He can prepare and read email offline saving big $. johnql Posted December 14, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2005 I know the phone don't work so I figured e-mailing is the best way but I am not sure how it works. Actually, satellite phone service IS available. It's very expensive (something like $7/minute), but if we're talking about an emergency, it may still be worth using. Here's the info that's posted on NCL's web site: NCL guests can also be contacted on one of our ships by calling 1.888.NCSHIPS (1.888.627.4477) from USA. For the rest of the world please dial 1.732.335.3280. When guests are contacted with the ship via satellite, they can be reached directly, if they are in their stateroom. If not, a message about the incoming call will be delivered to their cabin and then they can call back the shore via satellite.
