hallorot Posted November 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2017 For more than 60 years the Holland America Line is a valued customer of Royal Goedewaagen. During that period Royal Goedewaagen made a wide variety of products, ranging from vases, bowls, plates, Delft blue tiles and more. Once more in 2018 the Goedewaagen Museum will exhibit a large diversity of their Holland America Line products. Part 1 of the 2016 exhibition was allocated to the tile and tableau collection of Ton Rijppaert in The Netherlands (tonrijppaert.nl). His website is bilingual and all further information can be found there. In part 2 beautiful HAL pieces from the enormous collection of Clive Hellinga from the island of Schiermonnikoog (The Netherlands) can be seen. Clive is one of the top three maritime collectors in the world. His collection includes ceramics dating from the initial Holland America Line period (1873 -) with beautiful pieces from Faïencefabriek Holland-Utrecht in Gouda, Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland in Gouda en Potterij Rembrandt in Nijmegen. The exhibition will be opened January 7, 2018. In cooperation with curator Friggo Visser from the Keramisch Museum Goedewaagen (text) and well-regarded maritime historian dr. Nico Guns (publisher) a full color book about both exhibitions is in progress.
