editor@cruisecritic Posted November 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2017 Great question and I don't have an answer. The news hasn't been good out of Tortola -- but have reached out to our crackerjack editorial team for an update, and will let you know what I hear. Thanks.... editor@cruisecritic Posted November 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Hi, godsrecognisegods. Put in a call to the British Virgin Islands tourism folks, and was told that sailboats and charters were allowed in as of November 1, but there's no date yet announced for the return of cruise ships. Good question -- will keep our eyes peeled, and if you hear anything, please let us know, too! The fact that no date is announced and your cruise is so close lends me to believe that it's not going to call there.... Thanks. Carolyn

editor@cruisecritic Posted December 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2017 Thanks -- we're checking in (again) to see if it's really going to happen. Which organization actually made the announcement? Carolyn just read this on another forum ... We're very excited to announce that the first ships to visit the BVI post hurricanes are now confirmed! editor@cruisecritic Posted December 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 6, 2017 It's opening. Our editorial team is updating this piece regularly: https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=8067. I will say that a source who works for a small ship line said that Tortola is NOT ready, that he wouldn't send ships there just yet.... We'll have to see what the reports are! Carolyn I'm not too sure. The same person has since posted it cruise critic under the tortola port category.

godsrecognisegods Posted December 10, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted December 10, 2017 Went there on Wednesday. It's a mess. We got straight back on the boat. Pointless going there. Attempted ferry to Gorda based on times given to us by tourist office but ferry was cancelled. St Marteen was OK. Loads of devastation but we managed a boat trip around island and to mullet bay.
