Just back from millie

Just back Sunday from a week on the Millenium and everything was great. There were no smells, toilets worked,( must have fixed those two items since the transatlantic crossing based on comments on this board) food in the dining room was impressive and the shows were fantastic--best I have ever seen on a cruise. The ship seems to be in perfect shape except for a few minor upholstery problems and I really hesitate to even mention that. I am a new Celebrity fan and can't wait to go again. Having been on the Zuiderdam last December, I can see what a difference the cruise director can make. Millie has the best. Service was wonderful and our maite d' even had a requested dessert not on the menu made for our table. I think anyone who relies solely on the buffet upstairs is making a serious mistake. Eat downstairs. I have sailed with Princess, Cunard and HAL. Celebrity wins in all respects, IMHO, with the exception of the upstairs buffet--Princess takes that one. Happy to answer any questions covey41@AOL.com Don't worry about the Millie--go cruise...have fun!

I seriously wanted to "borrow" some of those wonderful purple stripped chairs in the Platinum Club. Seeing that purple is my favorite color, I tried to think of a way of getting four of those chairs off the ship.

I concur with covey. The Mille was great, our waiter Vlaho was wonderful and the butler Kenneth has greatly improved since he was our butler on Summit. The food was wonderful and whenever we asked for something that wasn't on the menu, Vlaho made every effort to get it for us, even having creme brulee for my sister every evening for dessert.

No smells, but there were some problems with the loos on deck 6, which were taken care of within 2 days. Also some noticeable problems with the air conditioning. My cabin was 87 degrees on Monday, even with the thermostat turned to the lowest point. That was fixed quickly, but the temp problems in the casino and especially in the public ladies bathrooms on deck 4 were pretty bad throughout the trip. The bathroom right outside the Rendezvous was hotter than a sauna for the entire week.

I am so pleased that you both had good experiences on the Milli. She is our favorite of all ships upon which we have sailed and it's good news to know she still struts her stuff. We look forward to another trip on her or one of her sisters.
