Time between Galveston and airport

Does anyone know how far it is from Galveston to the Houston (HOU) airport?

 

Our flight is at 1:15. We are going to do self-assist and trying to time everything.

About 45 minutes to an hour.

which airport? And depending on traffic, which is ugly during rush hour, the most is about an hour with light traffic.

Just back from the Elation, November 28th - December 3rd. We flew out of Houston Hobby

We did the self debarktion. We were off the ship by 9am. Our flight left at 2PM. We were at the airport about 10 am.

We used Mr. L. J. from Texas Cruise Ship Shuttle to pick us up and take us to Hobby for our return flight. WOW!! He is wonderful!! $125.00 for a van ( 9 persons) and uhaul to haul all our luggage. I highly recommend him. He entertained us the whole way to Hobby!!

If you used it one way, what means of transportation did you use to get from the airport to the port?

We actually rented a van (from Jackson, Miss) to drive to Galveston. We couldn't find a good deal on Southwest. Hertz does not charge a "drop off" fee. We returned the van to the Hertz rental in Galveston and then they (Hertz) drove you to the cruise pier. We found a $39 deal for Southwest and flew home.

Mr L. J. did pick up 7 persons in our group, as they choose to fly into Hobby prior to the cruise. They arrived at Hobby at 8 am and Mr L J drove them around Houston and showed them the "sights", dropped them off at a breakfast place and then returned 45 minutes later, picked them up and dropped them off at the cruise pier.

Self assist you can easily be off by 8 (assuming no passenger/customs problems) and at HOU by 9. Last weekend we got on a port/terminal bus at 9am it left at 9:20am stopped at HOU at 10:10am and IAH at 10:50am.
