JJHA04 Posted December 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2005 Me and my fiance are booked for our honeymoon the April 29th 10-day Tahitian Princess sailing out of Papeete. We live outside of Los Angeles and want to fly on Air Tahiti Nui, however I've heard that Princess sometimes uses a charter airline called Omni. Has anybody heard of this? We have flown on charters before and they are very cramped, plus we have never flown before on Air Tahiti. Have any suggestions as to how we can fly on Air Tahiti and not some charter where we are packed like sardines. Thanks for any advice. ocngypz Posted December 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2005 Pay the deviation fee. Call your travel agent.
PaulaJK Posted December 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2005 Joe -Why not call Princess & see if you can find out which airline they are using for your cruise. -If it's not the one you want, ask if they will book you on your choice for a deviati0n fee. To take an air-transfer pkg on this trip which mayor may not include hotel, may be a less stressful option for your honeymoon. If you can't obtain the desired carrier from Princess, you can book Air TN through your travel agent or on your own. This airline has a web page that will give you lots of info. What a lovely destination for a honeymoon!

Joe and Jennifer Not only does Air Tahiti Nui fly to Papeete, but so does Qantas, Air New Zealand and United. All nonstops, all out of LAX. Check the prices on your own-you may save some money and not end up paying air deviation. If you have not made final payment, you can cancel the cruise air, if you can save some money or get better flight times. If I had my choice and price was the same, I would take the Qantas flight-better service. And you will probably fly from Terminal 4 instead of Tom Bradley, which is a total zoo. Dirty, dirty, dirty terminal, lots and lots of people, and the wait to have your luggage checked can be VERY long. You do not check your own luggage at Bradley on most airlines-you must wait in line to have your luggage checked, then someone escorts you and your luggage to check in. It definitely can be a hassle. spongerob Posted December 16, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2005 Princess hasn't used Omni in quite some time. All flights are booked with ATN, who seems to get good grades on their in-flight service.
JJHA04 Posted December 20, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted December 20, 2005 Thanks for all the replies, we'll look into our options and evaluate. I wasn't aware of the other carriers flying from LAX into Papeete, so I will look into those as well.
