zookepr0 Posted December 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2005 I have read both good and bad things about this hotel. Booked there for one night in March prior to cruise. Booked directly with Ramada looking for good clean and safe area. Thanks for the input.
TrentS Posted December 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2005 It's NOT a nice place and ABSOLUTELY NOT A CLEAN AND SAFE AREA!!! It's also a long way from the port and airport, and there's also nothing to walk to from there, not that you would want to though as it's in a bad neighborhood that's downright dangerous to be out in at night! If you're looking for a budget hotel go with one of these below. They're in a nice, clean, SAFE neighborhood less than 10 minutes from the airport, just outside the entrance to the port, with dozens of restaurants, shops, grocery, drug & liquor stores as well as the very popular Water Taxi all within safe, easy walking distance... NoNoNanette Posted December 16, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2005 My travel agent mentioned that Amerisuites provided free parking and R/T transportation to the port. If that's so, it sounds like a plan for me!
steff613 Posted December 16, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2005 We stayed there 2 years ago to put it simply it was "gross"! We had to take a can to McDonalds, my husband got approached by a "working girl", the linens were damp and musty and the bathroom toilet was clogged constantly, we are trying amerisuites in March and feel there was nowhere to go but up after the ramada! TrentS Posted December 16, 2005 #7 Share Posted December 16, 2005 my husband got approached by a "working girl" Yep, that's a common State Road 84 "problem", and just one of the many reasons I always tell people to avoid ALL of the State Road 84 motels... SE 17th Street is a much MUCH better and safer area.
