meredith Posted May 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Has anyone ever done this excursion? I booked it on line for our upcoming cruise. It looks like you have dinner on the beach and then go to some kind of folkloric dance and music show. Would love to hear any comments on this. Thanks! JohnQ Posted May 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Vaharta Adventures in PV runs this tour for different ships. I heard several people say it was great. We did the Rainforest Safari BBQ beach trip with them and they did a great job. I will try to review my carnival trip description to see what it says about this. mytime53 Posted February 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2008 We have done it 3 times over the years (on our own, not with a cruise ship excursion) and have enjoyed it each time. They are definitely putting profits back into it for improvements, which in some cases is an improvement, and in others kind of detracts from the original charm. Some people think the show is hokey...well, it is a modern dance interpretation, and as such, I think they do an excellent job.
doublenickelgal Posted February 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2008 You can see a video clip on YouTube. This is held at a place called Las Caletas Hideaway. We did the day trip there in November. It's very beautiful and the food and margaritas were wonderful. Be sure and wear sensible shoes as the stone and dirt paths can be slippery and uneven. I twisted my ankle. They were great about sending over an employee with a first aid kit to patch my knee up.
