Need help with Hotel for night prior to cruise

Sailing on RC in Feb. and we are flying in the night before to Ft. Lauderdale. The cruise leaves out of Miami so we were hoping to get some advice on hotels either in Ft. Lauderdale area and then we'll drive to the Port of Miami in the morning or suggestions on hotels right near the Port in Miami.

 

We are not familiar with the area so any suggestions is greatly appreciated for either Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. We'd like someplace nice but that is also reasonably affordable.

Holiday Inn Port of Miami. It is within 1/2 mile of port. You can see the ships come in and turn in the morning (be up very early). Bayside Market Place is right across the street.

We are soending the night at "The Clay Hotel" in South Beach in January 6th and then off on our cruise January 7th! :cool:

I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami. A little expensive, but very nice rooms. You can see the cruise ship docks and it is about three blocks from the Bayside Market Place. Across the street is a free people mover type of transportation.
