West bay beach

Coming to roatan in April with husband and 2 kids, 6 and 11. Very interested in snorkeling and have looked at infinity bay, bananarama, etc...

Don't want to have to walk back and forth too much so would RATHER stay on the infinity side of the beach, I think? Trying to decide if we pay $20 per person for a taxi from mahogany bay, and then turn around and pay $20 per person at infinity, plus snorkel gear? Would it be better to buy a tabyana package from the ship? Which is $40 per person so basically the same. But is the quality the same as infinity?

I'm also really concerned about the vendor harassment...have read a lot of posts about the not stop pestering even if you have hat down, sunglasses on...

Go with the Tabyana package. Been multiple times. Have not been disappointed.

Last year went with Bananarama. $30 pp. Will not do that again. Young man met us outside the gate after about 5 minutes of searching for him. Short walk to his car where he found the battery dead. Had to wait another 20 inutes for a jump and then the ride over to the other side of the island (30 min.)

 

Got there and the beach was great. Free drink consisted of a well drink with very little alcohol. Beach was great and had a chair included, but a group of 4 women from another ship that was looking for a chair were actually kicked out of our area becuse chair was not included for them. We talked with them for a while and they were assured that they were to get chairs. Also they volunteered the info that they paid $160 for the same beach as us ($40 pp) with no chair.

 

Anyway, we were ready to leave and gave them our 2 wrist bands so they could use our chair. Got up to the office to get a ride back and had to wait almost 45 minutes for the car to show up.

 

Was not a deal breaker, as I thought the price was still good. $60 for the 2 of us to spend the day (about 4 hrs) on a great beach, but just all the little things took away from the day, including maybe a little deception on someones part for the 4 older ladys.

 

This time (in 7 days), just going with Carnival excursion.

I also have done the Tabyana beach break a number of times and it is great, its the beach next to the Infinity condos. We have lunch and drinks at there outdoor restaurant.

Book a private excursion with Victor Bodden. They will take you to Banarama. We were there in November.
