Shystermom Posted December 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2005 I am aware of the differences in itinerary, but both ships do St. Petersburg, which is my priority. Which ship is best for the Baltic/Northern Europe trip?
CAKER Posted December 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2005 We had a fantastic time on the Constellation last August (2004) for the Baltic Capitals and St. Pete. We had 4 tours + the ballet in the 2 days in St. Pete. We were exhausted, but we wouldn't have missed any of the tours if we did it again. We started and ended in Dover, England. Another cruise starts in Copenhagen. Some have days at sea to rest before St. Pete, others have them after to recover from St. Pete. Only you can decide which approach is best for you. (My wife HAD TO GO for a massage after the second day in St. Pete.) Also, check your timing, weather history, and consider arriving 1-2 days early, and maybe staying an extra day at the end, if you are going to participate extensively in the tours. (We went on 2/day in every city, and I think it was only $ 700-900 in total for both of us.)
C 2 C Posted December 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2005 We were on Century last May in the Baltic. Century is our favorite ship... we loved it but it was also $100's cheaper than prices on M-class ships. Just check out the same type of cabin on the ships... some like Constellation, others like Century but both offer great food, great service and the Century will be fresh from dry dock and upgrades. We have been on both and still prefer the Century..
