Hi,

We took our 11 and 14 yrs old daughters on the Millie in June 2004 from Venice to Barcelona - we all loved it.

We took an Alaska cruise with Princess July 2005 (it was really nice too) but everyone thought the European cruise was our best yet.

Royal Carib. was our favorite cruise line previously because of the family treatment - Celebrity was just as good.

If your kids have never been to Europe, it is a great way to see it. You don't have to pack and unpack at every stop.

It made for a very memorable family vacation that everyone will cherish for the rest of their lives. (it seemed a little expensive at first - but we'd definetly do it all over again in a heartbeat)

The Millenium itinerary is one of the very best available in my opinion. Every stop was fantastic in it's own way.

Highly recommended!

Graham summed it up very well .... we also cruised on Millennium in the Med this past Sept. and thought it was a fabulous cruise.

We have also done a Baltic cruise which we thoroughly enjoyed, but if I was going to repeat one of these cruises, the Med cruise would be the one.

We haven't done either cruise with children, but I think that the Med ports might be more interesting for your teens (and you) as there is more variety. Barcelona, French Riviera, Florence, Rome, Amalfi Coast, Athens, Santorini, Dubrovnik and Venice.... all great places to visit!

Hi SACATC,

We have sailed the Mediteranian itinerary on the Millennium, and the Baltic Sea on the Constellation. The ships are sister ships, and almost identical with the exception of the colors, art work and software. Both ships are beautiful and have excellent service, food and entertainment. We have sailed on RCI, Carnival, Norwegian, and HAL and these ships are, in my opinion at the top of the list. The Mediteranean and Baltic cruises have outstanding itineraries, and are very different. Would not be able to rate one above the other. I feel that you can't make a better choice than one of these cruises.

We were on Millenium, Barcelona to Venice, in September '03. It was truly the cruise of a lifetime. We booked quite a few expensive shore excursions and were never disappointed, especially our days in Tuscany, Capri and Santorini. I highly recommend the hotel/transportation option in Barcelona. The port area is difficult to navigate and this made it a breeze. We spent a few extra days in Venice so we were on our own there but the disembarkation process went smoothly. We are hoping to book another Med cruise in a year or two, and it will definitely be on Celebrity again.

As opposed to what? If you want to know if it's a good choice, what's the other option.

Yes, X is a great line. With the port intensive itineraries, most of your activities will be land based so research the ports well as to the interests of the cruises. With regard to X in Europe, there's nothing better than spending a day in Europe followed by great service while on board. Most times on a European cruise, people are so tired from a long day on shore that most of the evening entertainment goes on with half the normal crowds as people head to bed to prepare for the next adventure.
