Joyfredsblondecruiser Posted September 13, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2004 Trader Vics Mai Tai Mix is very good and it is so simple. I just mix it with my favorite rum. Happy Sailing, Joy
TinaLee Posted September 13, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2004 I'm sure the secret to the Mai Tai is in the mix they are using. It a mix and all they add is the rum (if that). You might try to find out which brand of mix they use on the ship? TinaLee
lostdart58 Posted September 13, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2004 Whether it is a secret or not a "true" Mai Tai is made with rum, fruit juices, grenadine, AND orgeat syrup. Orgeat syrup is like corn syrup made from almonds. Amaretto will also do as a substitute.
