Brazofuerte Posted January 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Wondering what people suggest about doing our own excursions. I have found with other cruise lines that I can do well booking things apart from the cruise. Has anyone done that with these ports? Also will there be bridge players? Sure hope so! Should I expect rough seas? Any other suggestions?

Rare molemaui Posted January 30, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2018 I have booked tours apart from the cruise line on virtually every cruise I've taken. This is especially true when excursions are not included (as they are not on most cruises) I have never had a problem with this mostly getting a much better tour for less money. I am also on the March 4 San Juan -Barcelona and most of the included tours are adequate for us except for Seville. I am hesitant to book a private (very highly rated) tour of Saville as Saville is approximately two hours away and the tour doesn't return until about 5pm. The ship departs at 6. I don't think this is an acceptable margin of error in case theres a problem during the tour and being two hours away in Seville means you probably can't just grab a cab (albeit an expensive cab) SO, in Saville, I will either self tour or buy something from Viking. In almost every other instance, I will look for suggestions on CC, verify on Trip advisor, etc. and book separately from ship.
