tukogirl Posted February 9, 2018 #51 Share Posted February 9, 2018 I didn’t even consider Spring Break timing when I booked our 8 night on the Crown leaving March 3. Do you think that sailing will have many Spring Breakers?

Do you think that sailing will have many Spring Breakers? The fact that you have 8 nights is great. That means you'll get in on the 11th and it is possible that people will do the cruise, get off on Sunday and be back in school on Monday...but anything over 7 nights decreases the school and college crowd. On the other hand, it is a fairly inexpensive cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. I still think you'll be OK; maybe more college crowd than normal, but so far they haven't taken over the ship! Do you think that sailing will have many Spring Breakers? It's hard to say since the spring break is different in many parts of the country. They normally look for the shorter cruises like 5 but 7 & 8 are also popular to. 10 day + trips seem to eliminate many or them. College kids tend to look for party ships which Princess is not. tawlaw1526 Posted February 9, 2018 #54 Share Posted February 9, 2018 I would think you are good considering it is an 8 day cruise. College kids seem to take 4 and 5 day cruises. 7 and 8 day cruises probably aren’t as popular especially if colleges only have 1 week for spring break. The other thing, when I was on the 5 day cruise where we had over 900 college kids, one big observation I noticed was the majority of these kids bought the all inclusive drink package. Adding extra days to their cruise adds extra cost and I assume most of the kids are on a budget. I really think your 8 day cruise will be fine. They did not ruin my cruise when I booked a 5 day during spring break.
caribbeanboy Posted February 9, 2018 #55 Share Posted February 9, 2018 My thoughts are that if this particular cruise was selling well, Princess would have not put it on sale or casino rate or whatever it is called. I upgraded yesterday to a deluxe balcony and we ended up paying $369 per person with all taxes and port charges included. There were only 2 on sale. This one and the Crown to the ABC islands.
