Regarding my upcoming Dec 24th cruise.....

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the ship..no one was sleeping, too excited about their trip.

The rooms were all clean by the staff with care..they knew that the passengers would soon be there.

The Captain was instructing the crew to do their best, for they knew next weeks group would be giving them little rest.

And I in my sundress, everyone else in their shorts, we just unloaded our luggage, we finally arrived at the port.

When out by the dock there arose such a clatter, passengers full of excitement and tons of chatter.

I ran up the gangway to board the ship...When the crew smiled at me and said "welcome aboard, have a nice trip".

With the sun above the horizon and the ocean below, just as I arrived the champagne began to flow.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but the Captain himself all dressed in his gear.

He was a very young Captain, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment he wasn't St. Nick!

Then all of a sudden the stewards they came, and they smiled and called each one of us by name.

Now Mrs. Smith, Mr. Smith, Bobby and Freddy, now Janie, now Sally, now Rachel, and Betty.

To the top of the ship, to the cabin near the pool..your suite is all ready, and boy is it cool!!

As the fleshly polished elevator doors began to close, we took up so much room that they almost pinched my nose.

And then down the corridor we were escorted to our room, and waiting for us there was champagne on ice and fresh flowers in full bloom!

After I walked into the room and looked around...down the hallway our room Butler came with abound.

He was dressed in all black from his head to his feet, and his shoes were all polished; boy was he ever neat!

With a plate full of goodies he had on his tray, and he did this for us day after day.

His smile how it twinkled, his voice always merry, he always was happy and never did terry.

He was never intrusive and alway very kind, and I never had to ask; it was like he could read my mind??

The white linen napkin was always draped over his arm, while he spoke with an accent and filled us with his charm.

He had a tan little face and a round little belly that shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right holly handsome guy, and I laughed when I saw him each time he walked by.

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work and he made all the beds and then turned with a jerk.

And filling my breakfast order each morning I awoke, I knew i could NOT ever survive life again if I happened to go broke!!

He sprang into action and took care of all our needs, and even brought us some books and asked "who likes to read"?

Now up by the pool deck there was always lots going on, I think the CD's name might have been John.

And all of a sudden I heard the ships whistle, which meant we would be on our way again like the down of a thistle.

And as the ship pulled away, and the land went out of sight; I thought to myself Merry Christmas to all and the Century is just right!!!!

P.S. Too bad I don't really have a suite waiting for me!!!
