I received my travel docs with no mention of embarkation time. I have been on 5 past cruises and all docs always had the embarkation time. Upon calling NCL Latitudes Member number, I was told that embarkation would be at 1:00. As a result I expected to embark at 11:30 - 1:00. I then received a courtesy call informing of the time change a week later.

Sweney & Rich: We DID receive our docs stating embarkation was still at 1:00, so of course I was still under the assumption it would be at 1:00! Neither me nor my TA ever got a call from NCL, which as others here have stated may have been too time consuming for NCL to do. Too bad for me and my TA I guess. Just wish I had found this all out before penalty phase. As Cruiser-dude so aptly mentioned, tolerating changes would be a bit easier to take if I had found out while I could still get my $$ back. I asked for a refund but was told "no" and that they would not make an exception to their penalty phase. Didn't ask directly for compensation, just the ability to book elsewhere. Anyway, I'm still very much looking forward to the cruise and plan on having a great time onboard, but I will continue to think NCL could have had better customer service. This, to me, is not too high of an expectation for a service-oriented business. Afterall, NCL evidentally isn't too busy to keep booking cruises, just perhaps too busy to handle the difficulties arising from current bookings that are already paid for.
